Carol Schroeder

Carol J. Schroeder Chair for Associate Principal Flute

Carol J. Schroeder's love for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra began at her first concert in the 1970s, when Thomas Schippers was at the podium.  Then a recent college graduate, the new experience was exhilerating.  Carol's appreciation for the arts only deepened from there, and in 2016 she joined the Cincinnati Symphony Club, a nonprofit organization that has supported the CSO for more than 100 years.  Today she serves as the organization's president.

At the AMEN Party at Music Hall following the final performance of the 2025 May Festival, Carol happened to meet Henrik Heide.  Drawn to his warmth and positive energy, she was inspired to learn more about his work as a musician and soon discovered that his Associate Principal Flute Chair had not yet been endowed.  Having long considered endowing a chair in support of the CSO, that evening made her decision clear.  After meeting Henrik, she knew she had found the musician she wished to honor through this endowment.

Henrik Heide now sits in the Carol J. Schroder Chair for Associate Principal Flute
