Sandra Sue Mitchell
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sandra Sue Mitchell, aged 79, who departed this life on May 27, 2026. Born on February 2, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Sandra was a beloved resident of Fairfield, Ohio, where she nurtured a loving home and laid the foundation for cherished memories with her family and friends.
Sandra epitomized kindness and compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her spirit radiated warmth, and she was known to brighten any room with her presence. In her earlier years, she was a proud member of the former UC Bearkittens, the esteemed dance and spirit squad of the University of Cincinnati, where she showcased her passion for dance and community. Although the Bearkittens team was officially disbanded in 1989, Sandra’s dedication to the spirit of the university and its students continued to shine brightly throughout her life.
Sandra earned her Bachelor’s Degree, an achievement that she valued greatly, and subsequently devoted her life to her family as a loving housewife. Her commitment to her loved ones was unwavering, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and support that will be treasured forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to a charity of your choice, in Sandra’s name, to continue spreading the love and compassion she embodied throughout her life.
Sandra Sue Mitchell will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Adah Slete.

I was saddened to read about Sandy. We were childhood friends and spent time together in Girl Scouts and sleepovers at her home. Sandy was so sweet and nice and I am glad that I was able to communicate with her many years later. May Sandy rest in peace.

After we graduated from Kennedy-Silverton's ballroom dancing classes, we moved onto Schroeder Junior High where schools from Pleassant Ridge merged. New friends were made. There were school dances, sports and other social activities. Once a month the church in Pleasant Ridge had dances and the occassional hayride. Along with many others, Sandy was very much a part of those junior high years and eventually we all moved onto Woodward. Hopefully, Sandy enjoyed the years to the fullest. I remember her as always being part of the group . They were very special years. Don't we all wish we could rewind the clock? Sandy can now have eternal rest.

I was new to Woodward in 10th grade, Sandy was one of the first people I met, we dated for two years!! Later in life she and my wife Gail were close friends at Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church. I will always remember her as a fun loving caring wonderful person. Her life took some difficult twists, hopefully he is now resting in peace with the rest of her family. God bless Sandy Slete.
