Profile Updated: August 14, 2022
Residing In: Port St. Lucie, FL USA
Spouse/Partner: Nat Friedman......Woodward 1960
Occupation: Retired....after 18 yrs as Secretary at Dillard's.
Children: Ellyn born 1968; Andrea, born 1970; Leslie, born 1977. Grandchildren: Jessica 27, Nick 22, Sara 20, More…Sean 17, Jacob 15 and Aaron 12. We have an 14 year old Boston Terrier by the name of Grace

Our 4 year old Boston Terrier Elsie, passed away a three years ago. She was fine one day, and was not, the next day. We spent the entire day at the Vet, only to find out that she had Cancer. After about 6 weeks of mourning, we drove back up to the Panhandle (close to where Elsie came from) and adopted a 3 year old Boston, Stella. Once again we made the trip up there with our daughter Leslie (who drove) and granddaughter Jessica. It was unusual that both Boston's came from the general area.

During our LONG period of sadness, a wonderful friend and artist, that we all know...Robin Sevester Avery, saw it on Facebook. Robin got in touch with me and asked for a photo of Elsie. She did the MOST WONDERFUL, accurate and perfect painting of Elsie. Robin and I have been friends since the 2nd grade at Losantiville.

Our precious Grace passed away 2 years ago. Our 3 daughter's and Son In Law's surprised us with an 8 week old Boston Puppy, that we named Fanny. She is now 16 month's old....and FAST!!!

We won't be able to join all of you for the 75th Birthday party, but wish you ALL a super time and TAKE LOT'S OF PICTURE'S!!!!!!!!!!
Comments:

Married Nat 11/27/66. After Nat returned from Vietnam, we went into the family business, Stanley Rich Furs. In the early 70's we purchased Fettner Friedman Furs in downtown Cinti. with Nat's partner Harvey Camins.

Ellyn was 5 mos. old when Nat ret'd from Vietnam. A few yrs. later, Andrea was born. Seven yrs. later, Leslie was born.

Our daughter's moved to Fl with us in 1994. Leslie was going into her Sr year of high school. Not to long after school, she met Ralph. Together they purchased a Floral Store and called it "GIORDANO'S FLORAL CREATIONS". They have 2 children, Jessica 27 and Nick 22. Ralph, our son-in-law and the Flowers Shop have been chosen as the Best Flower Shop in St. Lucie County for the 11th year. Leslie, is an ARNP. Maybe, finally...I'll be able to get a Drs. appt!!!! Nick is in college and wants to create games for the internet, he also works in the flower shop. Nat and I deliver flower's for Ralph a few days a week. It is fun....although Nat and I spend a lot of the time in the car. De drives and I am the GPS, along with delivering the flower's. He carries all of the heavy funeral arrangement's.

Andrea, an Accountant, and Doug an Attorney for The State of Florida They have 2 children Sara 20, and Sean 17.

Ellyn is retired, and is currently working with a large group of people as an Advocate Ad litem. Gary, a Sr Systems Analyst/Architect that writes Medical programs. They have 2 boys, Jacob 15 and Aaron 12 years. Jacob is an actor with the local playhouse....the Pineapple Playhouse in Ft. Pierce, FL.

The kids take up all of my time.

After retiring from Dillard's, I began, taking care of two of our grandson's, while their parent's are working. This year BOTH boys are in school all day. I got a little bored, so I got a job as an online customer service agent for one of the major companies. After two years of that, thought it was time to stop and
spend some quality time with Nat. We take turns with the boys. He likes to read his Kindle, and I am back into needlepoint. I had stopped for a few years....but now find it relaxing. There of course are the important things in life like having nails and hair done....We travel a bit, and are planning a drive around the country trip. We are going to do this by sections. Because Nat is 100% disabled now,( Vietnam...the gift that KEEPS on giving ) we have the availability of staying at the Military Base Lodging, at all of the Military Bases around the world. We are planning to be in Cincinnati for the Reunion.

Our 18 year old granddaughter Sara, has decided that she would like to have a Bat Mitzvah. So that is being planned for early next year, in Orlando, where they live. Guess who the Florist is....

Our 18 year old grandson Nick has been doing duel enrollment. He goes to high school early in the morning, and then goes to IRSC (Indian River State College) where he spends the rest of the day. He goes to the college year round. He will have his Associates degree, 2 weeks before his high school diploma, next month. He plans to create Internet gaming. He now is involved with people from all over the world, in gaming.

Our 15 year old grandson just performed at Pineapple Playhouse, where he had one of the leads. Pineapple Playhouse is similar to Playhouse in the Park.

Our other grandchildren, Sean who is 16 is in high school and loves to read. Aaron, who is 10, is in the 4th grade, a Special Needs class for children with Autism. We take him to speech therapy weekly. Proud to say he is doing wonderful. Jessica, who is 25, also is Autistic, is an artist. She continues going to art school. Some of her work has been in a gallery in Ft Pierce, where a few have sold.

This past January, we went on a Western Caribbean Cruise to celebrate Nick's 18th birthday. In May 2017 we are going on a Mediterranean Cruise to celebrate our 50th Anniversary.....which is actually this November. Where did the years go.......

Nat and I recently returned from Italy and Greece. Had a wonderful time and got wonderful pictures. Unfortunately, we won't be to the September celebration. We are going to be in Cincinnati in early October, because Nat's class (1960) is having the same thing....only 75 years. We went to my 50th and missed his....so it's now "his" turn. We are going to do a two week driving trip, making Cincinnati one of the stops. Please...everyone....post a lot of pictures from the party!!!!! I will miss seeing everyone!!! Hugs to all of you!!!!

We have a Bar Mitzvah coming up, President's Weekend. One of our Grandson's, Jacob Kulwin, will have his Bar Mitzvah ceremony at the Chabad of Martin and Saint Lucie Counties. It's going to be a big weekend of parties and dinner's.

In June we are going to Orlando for the 20th Annual Family Cafe. It is the Summit on Disabilities, for the residents of Florida. We have been going since our granddaughter Jessica was 8 years old. She is now 27.

In May, our youngest daughter, Leslie Giordano, will be, Leslie Giordano, ARNP. We are very proud, and at the same time...glad she will make house calls....as they live around the corner. Her husband Ralph, will be doing all of the flower's for the Bar Mitzvah. His shop, Giordano's Floral Creations, has been #1 in St. Lucie County for 9 years.

I haven't been on here for awhile, so I'll update a bit.....
This year Nat and I will be married for 54 years. Seems like a lifetime ago. I was 19 and he was 23.

With Covid 19, it's been an unusual time for all. We still deliver flower's for our Son-in-Law's shop, Giordano's Floral Creations. Nat drives and I do the running...except for very heavy funeral arrangement's. Dining out has been cut out, so we do a lot of delivery and curb service. Mask wearing has become the fashion statement of 2020, like white gloves for the ladies, in the 50's...LOL
Because of Agent Orange, Nat's immune system has been compromised, so we have to be careful. We do see our kids as much as possible.

We are looking forward to being in Cincinnati next June for the joint Bar/Bat Mitzvot of our Great niece and nephew, my sister Anita's grandchildren. There will be 14 of us flying from Fl.

That's about all for now, except to say that everyone please be safe, so we can all get through this horrific pandemic.

I guess the only current news is that Nat received his 2 Moderna shots from the VA. I have received my first Pfizer from my Dr and will receive my second one on March 8th. We haven't been in a restaurant since last March.....but are real pro's at "curbside"...LOL

School Story:

A lot of happy times at Woodward. I remember walking home from school with Gertrude Jarnicki and then walking a little further to my father's Fur store in Bond Hill.

In March of '63 I got my driver's license, piled everyone in the car....and drove to.....Frisch's...to drive around the circle. Pretty sure that I wasn't the only one to do that.......

It's been a bit since I have updated. Thought I'd add a few things now.

This past Memorial weekend we were once again in Cincinnati to celebrate the B'nai Mitzvot of our Great Niece and Great Nephew Amelia and Isaac Phillips, grandchildren of Anita and Larry Phillips. Naturally we did all of the "Favorite" spots. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to go to White Castle...but, never fear...they are in Orlando!!!!!

We are still delivering flower's part time for our Son In Law's shop, Giordano's Floral Creation's. That's a lot of fun. Nat drives the van, and I am the GPS. Like I tell everyone....after 56 years I can actually "tell him where to go".

The biggest new I have concern's our 17 year old grandson Jacob. He has been acting since he was a little boy at the local playhouse, as well as all of the high school performances, where he was the star of one. In the last play, The Addams Family, the Musical, he was Grandma.

Anyway, Jacob was accepted into two pre college programs. He is first going to Stetson University for an intensive vocal camp. After that he flies to the University of Oklahoma for a rigorous national dance and musical theatre program. We are very proud.

I guess that is it for now....

For those that are going to the birthday party in September have a super time!!!!!!
