I used to hang out with Kathy back when we were seniors. I lost touch with her shortly after I graduated. Does anyone know when or how Kathy died. I remember her as a beautiful young girl who was madly in love with Jerry Cutter.
I only remember hearing that Kathy married one of the Cutter brothers from Reading which was Jerry. I met Kathy in the 2nd or 3rd grade at Hartwell Elem School. Yes, she was very attractive and when Kathy and Mary K (Kathy Wallace) got on the bus; they turned every guy's head. My brother and I lived around the corner from the Zins family and Kathy had a brother "Skip" that was my brother's age. A great guy too. Their house was always kept up and the yard stood out from others. It was easy to know that Kathy came from a good family.
When I heard Kathy had passed I argued that it could not have been her. I guess there are some people you expect to live longer. Kathy and her brother always had a certain poise about them and you would expect Kathy to be commenting on us, rather us commenting on her life. I will always remember the little girl who would play and laugh with us in the halls and playground of Hartwell Elem.
Kathy, I must thank you for putting up with me in Mr. Ruley's class. Cutting the frog open and finding the Pearl in the oyster( even though no one except you believed me) was what being a Woodward student was all about. I am saddened to know that your life was cut short. I do hope your husband is able to read this and smile.
Kathy Zins passed away from stomach cancer at a young age. I believe in her late 30s. She worked in a business office at the time. Her children went to Jerry as they were divorced. She is buried at Springgrove Cemetery. I have her bio saved somewhere.
