Married Nat 11/27/66. After Nat returned from Vietnam, we went into the family business, Stanley Rich Furs. In the early 70's we purchased Fettner Friedman Furs in downtown Cinti. with Nat's partner Harvey Camins.
Ellyn was 5 mos. old when Nat ret'd from Vietnam. A few yrs. later, Andrea was born. Seven yrs. later, Leslie was born.
Our daughter's moved to Fl with us in 1994. Leslie was going into her Sr year of high school. Not to long after school, she met Ralph. Together they purchased a Floral Store and called it "GIORDANO'S FLORAL CREATIONS". They have 2 children, Jessica 31 and Nick 26. Ralph, our son-in-law and the Flowers Shop have been chosen as the Best Flower Shop in St. Lucie County for the 11th year. Leslie, is an ARNP. Maybe, finally...I'll be able to get a Drs. appt!!!! Nick is in college and wants to create games for the internet, he also works in the flower shop. Nat and I deliver flower's for Ralph a few days a week. It is fun....although Nat and I spend a lot of the time in the car. De drives and I am the GPS, along with delivering the flower's. He carries all of the heavy funeral arrangement's.
Andrea, an Accountant, and Doug an Attorney for The State of Florida They have 2 children Sara 25, and Sean 21.
Ellyn is retired, and is currently working with a large group of people as an Advocate Ad litem. Ellyn works with families who are entitled to Services by the State of do not know how to do this. She travels to all the schools to meet with the heads of all of the departments, along with the families. Gary, a Sr Systems Analyst/Architect that writes Medical programs. They have 2 boys, Jacob 19 and Aaron 15 years. Jacob grew up as an actor with the local playhouse....the Pineapple Playhouse in Ft. Pierce, FL. Jacob is terrific on the stage. At Indian River State College, he starred in Rhinoceros. Sir Lawrence Olivier played the same part on the stage as well as Gene Wilder in 1974. In the Fall, he will be attending SUNY NY, where he will be in Drama, Music and Dance.
The kids take up all of my time.
After retiring from Dillard's, I began, taking care of two of our grandson's, while their parent's are working. This year BOTH boys are in school all day. I got a little bored, so I got a job as an online customer service agent for one of the major companies. After two years of that, thought it was time to stop and
spend some quality time with Nat. We take turns with the boys. He likes to read his Kindle, and I am back into needlepoint. I had stopped for a few years....but now find it relaxing. There of course are the important things in life like having nails and hair done....We travel a bit, and are planning a drive around the country trip. We are going to do this by sections. Because Nat is 100% disabled now,( Vietnam...the gift that KEEPS on giving ) we have the availability of staying at the Military Base Lodging, at all of the Military Bases around the world. We are planning to be in Cincinnati for the Reunion.
Our 24 year old granddaughter Sara, has decided that she would like to have a Bat Mitzvah. So that is being planned for early next year, in Orlando, where they live. Guess who the Florist is....
Our 26 year old grandson Nick is a Graphic Designer in Stuart, FL.
Our 19 year old grandson Jacob is an actor. He recently had the lead in Rhinoceros, at Indian River State College. Sir Lawrence Olivier, as well as Gene Wilder in 1974. Jacob will be attending SUNY NY in the fall because of their great Drama and Dance programs. His dream.....Broadway.
Our other grandchildren, Sean who is 21 is in school and works. Sara, who is 24, is in Real Estate as well as a Mortgage Lender. Aaron, who is 15, is in the 9th grade, in a Special Needs Program for children with Autism. Proud to say he is doing wonderful. Jessica, who is 31, is also Special Needs. She loves to spend time with her caregiver, Michelle. Jess also loves to do art projects.
This past January, we went on a Western Caribbean Cruise to celebrate Nick's 18th birthday. In May 2017 we are going on a Mediterranean Cruise to celebrate our 50th Anniversary.....which is actually this November. Where did the years go.......
Nat and I recently returned from Italy and Greece. Had a wonderful time and got wonderful pictures. Unfortunately, we won't be to the September celebration. We are going to be in Cincinnati in early October, because Nat's class (1960) is having the same thing....only 75 years. We went to my 50th and missed his....so it's now "his" turn. We are going to do a two week driving trip, making Cincinnati one of the stops. Please...everyone....post a lot of pictures from the party!!!!! I will miss seeing everyone!!! Hugs to all of you!!!!
We have a Bar Mitzvah coming up, President's Weekend. One of our Grandson's, Jacob Kulwin, will have his Bar Mitzvah ceremony at the Chabad of Martin and Saint Lucie Counties. It's going to be a big weekend of parties and dinner's.
In June we are going to Orlando for the 20th Annual Family Cafe. It is the Summit on Disabilities, for the residents of Florida. We have been going since our granddaughter Jessica was 8 years old. She is now 27.
In May, our youngest daughter, Leslie Giordano, will be, Leslie Giordano, ARNP. We are very proud, and at the same time...glad she will make house calls....as they live around the corner. Her husband Ralph, will be doing all of the flower's for the Bar Mitzvah. His shop, Giordano's Floral Creations, has been #1 in St. Lucie County for 15 years.
I haven't been on here for awhile, so I'll update a bit.....
This year Nat and I will be married for 54 years. Seems like a lifetime ago. I was 19 and he was 23.
With Covid 19, it's been an unusual time for all. We still deliver flower's for our Son-in-Law's shop, Giordano's Floral Creations. Nat drives and I do the running...except for very heavy funeral arrangement's. Dining out has been cut out, so we do a lot of delivery and curb service. Mask wearing has become the fashion statement of 2020, like white gloves for the ladies, in the 50's...LOL
Because of Agent Orange, Nat's immune system has been compromised, so we have to be careful. We do see our kids as much as possible.
We are looking forward to being in Cincinnati next June for the joint Bar/Bat Mitzvot of our Great niece and nephew, my sister Anita's grandchildren. There will be 14 of us flying from Fl.
That's about all for now, except to say that everyone please be safe, so we can all get through this horrific pandemic.
I guess the only current news is that Nat received his 2 Moderna shots from the VA. I have received my first Pfizer from my Dr and will receive my second one on March 8th. We haven't been in a restaurant since last March.....but are real pro's at "curbside"...LOL
