I moved from Cincy the day after graduation and have only been back twice since then. I then attended Morgan State College and received a BS in Biology. I was a hospital Lab Tech before making a career with the government.
School Story:

I transferred to Woodward in my junior year from one of the toughest high schools in Philadelphia, Pa. On my first day, I came armed with my chain and blade, knowing that I would have to prove myself. A cute little girl by the name of Rita introduce herself and informed me that I would not need those things at that school. (Both Cincinnati and Woodward were a big culture shock to me after having lived in larger cities.) But, from that first day on, she became one of my best school friends. I'll never forget my first friend.

I was initially hesitant about returning for our reunion but I changed my mind at the last minute. I'm now glad I did. I had the best time seeing people I had forgotten and who had forgotten me. Kudos to the organizers! You did an excellent job.

'Little Rit' was my first and closest friend at Woodward. I was 6'3" tall and she was at least a foot shorter. Because of our complection and height differences, friends would call us "salt and pepper " when we walked to class. I left Cincy the day after graduation and Rita was one of the last people I said goodbye to. After having been away for forty years, I was saddened to hear from Portia that she had passed. I'll always remember my little buddy and her help in my adjustment to Woodward.
